Why Lowered Cars Need Specialist Towing
Standard tow trucks cause damage to lowered cars. Here’s why:
- Loading angle – Standard truck ramps sit at 12-15 degrees. A slammed car bottoms out at 8 degrees or less. Result: scraped splitters and crushed exhausts.
- Ground clearance – Wheel-lift tow trucks need 6-8 inches of clearance under the car. Your lowered car has 2-4 inches. The lift catches and damages underbody components.
- Approach angle – Even getting to the tow point can scrape the front end on standard trucks. Flatbeds eliminate this problem.
- Wide wheels and camber – Aggressive fitment with stretched tyres and negative camber doesn’t fit standard wheel cradles properly.
- Aftermarket parts are expensive – That front lip cost $500-2,000. The exhaust system was $2,000+. One bad tow can cause thousands in damage.

Coilovers – Fixed height with no adjustment. We assess clearance and use appropriate loading technique.
Lowering springs – Moderately dropped cars that still have some clearance but not enough for standard towing.
Static slammed – Cut springs, welded mounts, on the ground. Flatbed with extra care is the only safe option.
Factory sports cars – Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, GT-Rs. Factory low vehicles need flatbed transport to protect expensive underbody components.
Show cars – Concours-level builds that can’t have any marks or scratches. We take extra precautions.
